Care & Treatments Centered Around Your Needs
Annual Well-Woman Exams w/Pap
Yearly well-woman exams are an important preventive tool is helping us monitor and improve your health. These visits help you and our team identify any changes in your health and treat issues that may be affecting your wellbeing. During these appointments, we will help you identify ways to improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle and habits which facilitate long-term health.
A well-woman visit is an opportunity for us to screen for sexually transmitted diseases, administer vaccines for HPV, hepatitis, and the flu. In addition, it is during these visits that we will perform Pap tests to screen you for cervical cancer. Pap tests are recommended every three years for women ages 21 to 65.
Contraception & Counseling
Building a trusting relationship with you is of the utmost importance to every member of our team. Together, we will discuss the birth control options available and determine which type best fits your needs, goals, and plans for the future. Available methods include oral medications, injections, hormonal and non-hormonal IUDs, and more. We want you to feel safe and confident in your choices!
Fertility issues can be a frustrating and emotional topic to approach. A number of factors can affect your ability to conceive, carry, and produce a child. This includes age, weight, illness, smoking, drug use, STIs, and more. Infertility is usually defined as the inability to conceive after 12 months of unprotected sex. For women 35 and older, it is usually defined as the inability to conceive as six months of unprotected sex.
If you are experiencing issues, we will discuss the available treatments available to you and your family. It is our goal to help you determine the cause of your infertility and develop a plan which meets your particular needs. This includes making lifestyle changes, medications, or surgical procedures.
If you and your partner are ready to start your family, scheduling a preconception counseling appointment with our practice may be helpful. It is never too early to start getting ready for pregnancy. During this appointment, we will discuss your family history, health and lifestyle habits, and any medications you are taking. In addition, we will provide you with information on how to best care for your body and overall well being before or in between pregnancies. We will determine if there is a need to perform genetic testing and make recommendations for prenatal vitamins. We will also provide you with information on how to meet your nutritional needs and safely exercise while you are pregnant.
The months before your wedding are an exciting time, and like so many others, you may have questions about what to expect once your are married. During your premarital exam, we will lay the foundation for our long-term, positive relationship with you. The exam will involve getting to know you, your health history, and family planning goals. We will also perform a basic gynecological exam. If you are over 21, this may include a pap smear.
We are here to answer your questions regarding birth control, pregnancy, and other women’s health needs. We are happy to address your concerns, especially if you have never met with a gynecologist.
